How does Orac learn from my website?
Enter your domain. Orac crawls every page, extracts the text, chunks it, and creates vector embeddings stored in a secure pgvector database. At query time it retrieves the most relevant chunks and feeds them to the LLM. Auto-sync re-crawls every 24 hours to keep your chatbot current — and only processes the delta, not the whole site.
What is BYOK (Bring Your Own Key)?
BYOK lets you provide your own OpenAI, Anthropic, or Gemini key on any paid plan. When enabled, your message cap is completely removed — you get unlimited messages. You pay your API provider directly for token usage, and Orac charges zero LLM cost. Ideal for high-volume sites.
How is pricing different from Chatbase and the alternatives?
Orac uses transparent message-based pricing — not confusing credits that vary by model. Branding removal is free on every paid plan (competitors charge $39–$199 extra). Custom domains are included in Business (others charge $59/mo extra). And no competitor offers BYOK with unlimited messages.
What does "page-aware context" mean?
The widget automatically sends the current page URL with every visitor question. Orac's RAG pipeline boosts content from that specific page by +0.15, so answers are contextually relevant to what the visitor is currently reading — not generic responses from your entire site.
Can I use Orac for in-app support?
Yes. For SaaS products, pass custom metadata via the data-orac-context attribute — current feature, user plan, page section. Most SaaS clients run two projects: one for the marketing site, one for in-app support, with different knowledge bases and prompts.
Is my data secure?
All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest (Supabase encryption). Row-level security ensures one client's data is completely isolated. BYOK API keys are encrypted and never visible after initial entry. Your data is never sold or used for training. SOC 2 compliance is in progress for 2026.
