1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide when creating an account (email, name), content you upload to train your chatbot (documents, URLs), widget conversation data (visitor questions and bot responses), and usage analytics (message counts, page URLs). We do not collect visitor PII unless you configure lead capture.
2. How We Use Your Data
Your content is used exclusively to power your chatbot via our RAG pipeline. We never use your data to train AI models, improve other customers' chatbots, or for any purpose other than providing the AskOrac service to you. Conversation data is stored to enable the conversations dashboard and analytics features.
3. Data Isolation
Each project has complete data isolation enforced at the database level via row-level security policies. One customer's query can never return another customer's content. This is architectural, not just application-level — the database itself prevents cross-tenant access.
4. Encryption
All data is encrypted in transit via HTTPS/TLS and at rest via Supabase's AES-256 encryption. BYOK API keys are additionally encrypted before storage and are never visible after initial entry — even to our team.
5. Third-Party Services
We use Supabase (database and authentication), Stripe (payment processing), Resend (transactional email), OpenAI/Anthropic/Google (LLM APIs — only when processing queries), and Vercel (hosting). Each provider has their own privacy policy and data handling practices.
6. Data Retention
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, all associated data (projects, documents, embeddings, conversations) is permanently deleted within 30 days. Free tier accounts are never deleted due to inactivity.
7. Your Rights
You can export your data at any time via the dashboard. You can delete your account and all associated data. You can request a copy of all data we hold about you by emailing hello@askorac.com.
